ANVIL will release their highly anticipated 14th studio album Juggernaut of Justice on May 10, 2011 through The End Records and distributed by Sony Music Canada.
Juggernaut of Justice was recorded at Dave Grohl’s Studio 606 in Northridge, California with producer Bob Marlette (Black Sabbath, Filter, Alice Cooper). Among the 12 new songs is the title track which is now available as part of The End Records Spring sampler, available at http://theendrecords.bandcamp.com/album/the-end-records-spring-2011-sampler
Considered a major influence for a generation of bands including Metallica, Slayer, Anthrax, and Guns n’ Roses, Anvil’s early releases Hard ‘n’ Heavy (1981) and Metal on Metal (1982) helped shaped the genre of heavy metal. Twenty years after their first rise to success, the band became the subject of a critically acclaimed documentary, “Anvil! The Story of Anvil.” Directed by Sacha Gervasi, the film debuted at the Sundance Film Festival in 2008, and went on to win an Independent Spirit Award for Best Documentary in 2010. Hitting theatres all over the world and then released on DVD, over 80 million people have seen the film to date, propelling the band back into the spotlight. Since the release of the film the band has toured the world, including performing at major festivals in the UK, Europe, Australia and Japan. The band just wrapped up their first tour of South America last week.

“Trust me when I say this album is VERY good and that it will surprise many” says Alan Cross, host and producer of Canada’s longest running syndicated radio show The OnGoing History of New Music and curator of ExploreMusic. “I have no doubt this is the album that will solidify them as the real deal”.

The End Records announces its Spring ’11 Sampler today. This FREE Sampler features 12 tracks from their current roster at The End Records, including previously unreleased tracks from Anvil, Goes Cube, Braveyoung, Too Late The Hero, Novembers Doom and Dir En Grey, based in Japan. As result of the recent catastrophe, the label has decided to accept donations on behalf of anyone wishing to download the free sampler. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to victims in Japan via the American Red Cross, and no donation is too small.
